Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Prefraud handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy covers this website and general enquiries. Information handled inside an engagement is additionally governed by the confidentiality terms of that engagement's written documents.

1. What we collect

When you use the contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to provide: your name, email address, organisation, area of concern and message content. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data.

Standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) may be recorded by our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.

2. Why we collect it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, assess whether an engagement is appropriate, prepare scope and authorisation documents if you proceed, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

We do not add your details to marketing lists, and we do not disclose them to third parties for their marketing.

3. How it is stored and protected

Form submissions are processed by our website hosting provider and delivered to Prefraud's email. Access is limited to Prefraud personnel who need it.

Engagement-related material is handled under the stricter confidentiality controls set out in the engagement documents, including restricted distribution to authorised client contacts only.

4. Disclosure

We disclose personal information only where you have agreed, where it is required to deliver a service you have requested, or where disclosure is required or authorised by law.

Some service providers (for example website hosting) may store data outside Australia; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.

5. Access and correction

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing inquiries@prefraud.com.au.

We respond within a reasonable period and will explain any basis for refusal if one applies.

6. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at the address above.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
